Becky McCracken

Has a lot of experience teaching beginners as well as professional singers and musicians. Really enjoys helping those new to singing who may be nervous or shy get fast and dramatic results. Proficient in all styles of singing, but her main love is jazz. Teaches the Part B singing course. Also works at Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, training pop stars in the making.

Becky originally came to Voxbox as a student in 2003 and immediately noticed a difference in the effective and consistent manner and methods taught. Seeing vast improvements in her voice, she was eager to take it further and train to become a teacher of the SLS. She loves helping students discover new areas in their voices and improvements in their singing. Her greatest strength as a teacher is that she is very encouraging and patient with her students, explaining techniques and conducting her lessons in a gentle, relaxed way that makes it easy to understand.

As well as giving private tuition at Voxbox, she also conducts the Part B singing course on Tuesday nights. She really enjoys the fun atmosphere in the group and extending their skills learned from in Part A. Becky is also on the staff at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and the Colchester Insitute. Becky is experienced in many genres of music from bluegrass to rock, soul to jazz. She has performed in bands and acoustic groups and works with various songwriters, helping them to record and get the best sound on their demo material to send to record labels. Her main love is jazz and she is currently working on creating 7:28, a jazz ensemble doing both originals and jazz standards.
